Virginia Laurie is a First-Year Creative Writing M.F.A. Candidate and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She earned her B.A. in English with minors in Studio Art and Middle East & South Asia Studies from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. 


During her undergraduate career, Virginia was awarded a Fulbright grant. She received the John M. Evans English Scholarship, The Sidney M.B. Coulling Prize for Best Senior Work in English, and an Honorable Mention for The Jean Amory Wornom Award for Distinguished Critical Writing. She worked as Student Assistant to the Art & Art History Department, interned for the University Collection of Art and History, and served as the Arts and Life Editor for the student-run newspaper, The Ring-tum Phi. She also completed a literary editing internship with Shenandoah Magazine.
